Edwards Roofing is a family owned Florida Roofing Company and Florida Commercial Roofing Company founded in 1935 by Albert Edwards. In 1937, Albert was joined by his son, Thomas Edwards, and together they opened the first office in downtown Pensacola, Florida. In 1941, Albert was elected Escambia County Schools Superintendent, leaving Thomas to run the company until he passed away in 1944.
For fifteen months the company was managed outside the family until Raymond Edwards returned from World War II to lead the company for the next forty years. When Raymond started with the company it consisted of five employees with one flatbed truck and very little equipment. Over the years the equipment has improved greatly, the technology of the systems has increased dramatically, and the variety of materials is more extensive than ever. Through it all, the company has grown to become one of the Gulf Coast’s leading commercial roofing contractors.
The Edwards family tradition continued when Rick Edwards and his brother-in -law Bob Purdy both joined the company in the mid 1970’s . Together with their 50 plus skilled employees, the two lead the company into the 21st century . Edwards Roofing has a large fleet of vehicles and the necessary equipment to handle all of your Florida Roofing needs.
Edwards Roofing Co., Inc. is licensed to work throughout Florida both as a certified roofing contractor and a certified building contractor, with license numbers CCC 017547 and CBC 056818. Edwards Roofing Co., Inc. is also licensed to work throughout Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Georgia.
