Who We Are

Edwards Roofing is a family owned Florida Roofing Company and Florida Commercial Roofing Company founded in 1935 by Albert Edwards. In 1937, Albert was joined by his son, Thomas Edwards, and together they opened the first office in downtown Pensacola, Florida. In 1941, Albert was elected Escambia County Schools Superintendent, leaving Thomas to run the company until he passed away in 1944.

For fifteen months the company was managed outside the family until Raymond Edwards returned from World War II to lead the company for the next forty years. When Raymond started with the company it consisted of five employees with one flatbed truck and very little equipment. Over the years the equipment has improved greatly, the technology of the systems has increased dramatically, and the variety of materials is more extensive than ever. Through it all, the company has grown to become one of the Gulf Coast’s leading commercial roofing contractors.

The Edwards family tradition continued when Rick Edwards and his brother-in-law Bob Purdy both joined the company in the mid 1970s . Together with their skilled employees, the two led the company into the 21st century. In the early 2000’s Bob Purdy’s nephew, Adam Purdy, joined the Edwards Roofing Co., Inc’s leadership team after spending many years working in the field. Adam now continues the legacy of Edwards Roofing making this a 4th generation family-owned and operated business that is currently celebrating its 80th year in business.

Edwards Roofing Co., Inc. is licensed to work throughout Florida both as a certified roofing contractor and a certified building contractor, with license numbers CCC 1329298 and CBC 056818. Edwards Roofing Co., Inc. is also licensed to work throughout Alabama, and Georgia. Edwards Roofing has a large fleet of vehicles and the necessary equipment to handle all of your Florida Roofing Needs.

Our mission

Edwards Roofing has had its motto for many years, “Satisfaction, Our Major Attraction.” We believe that the only way to establish long-term, repeat business in the same community for the last 80 years is to install quality products in a workmanlike manner at a fair price.
